Oliver,
You have done some great research and anaylsis! It is interesting that you mention Owen being transported in the mid 1700s. At the same time, Knogh McCaffry was transported. I have been researching the descendants of James & Hugh McCaffrey (multiple spelling variations) that are first documented in Loudoun Co., VA in 1767. The sons of James moved on to TN, OH & KY. Hugh seems to have disappeared about 1769, but I have often wondered if Knogh was a mis-transcription of Hugh. I have never been able to look at an image of the original document. As you know,McCaffrey (and all its variations) was an extremely rare surname in Colonial America and Loudoun & Augusta are rather close. Since there seems to be living male descendants of both lines, the distinct possibility of a conection could probably be resolved by a DNA project & analysis. I have much more on the Loudoun McCaffreys at McCaffrey Family Roots http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dwoody/mccaffrey/index.htmhttp://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dwoody/mccaffrey/index.htm
Regards, Dave Woody
