Dear John
I will tell you about the McCallions that I am descendant from and you can see whether they are of interest to you. I have a website at http://website.lineone.net/~jcampbell_1http://website.lineone.net/~jcampbell_1 which you can view.
John McCallion married Martha Torrens and they had four children Mary born 5/8/1855 in Dunbo, Alexander born 20/6/1858, William John born 11/8/1861 in Qilley and James who was born 26/09/1865 in Articlave, Londonderry. The first dign of them in Glasgow was in the 1881 census when John was 50 years old, Martha 48 and James 14. I think the others remained in Ireland. By this time they changed their surname to Campbell, which is apparently scottish equivalent of McCallion. James married a Rose Ann Brady in 1888 and William John was registered as a witness. I have not found any marriage or death for Mary, Alexander or William under either name, nor have i found a death of Martha or John. I suspect they returned to Ireland. I hope this is of use, if not if you could trace any information on the above people in Northern Ireland,I would be happy to receive information from you and try and help from Glasgow.
My email is [email protected].
Regards
Limwood Jim
