Frances McCleary, 93, died quietly at Hearthstone Village, Woodstock, IL, Saturday, Nov. 11. She leaves three sons and two grandchildren. Mrs. McCleary, long a resident of Park Forest, grew up in the South Shore area of Chicago and attended the University of Chicago before marrying Kimberly Stewart the father of her three sons: Kim, Phoenix, AZ, Philip, St. Myers, FL, and Bruce of Minnesota. After the death of Stewart, she supported her family as a dental assistant. In the 1980s, she remarried to Harry McCleary who preceded her in death. Mrs. McCleary was active in the Episcopal Church and was one of the eight founding members of Holy Family Church in Park Forest, where she participated in various activities including Altar Guild and the Vestry. She became the first female Senior Warden. Her funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, at Holy Family Church. Interment will be in the church's Columbarium, per her wishes. The Church is located at Sauk Trail and Orchard in Park Forest, IL. Mrs. McCleary will be remembered for the hot air balloon trip from Plainfield to Joliet at sunset, given to her by the parish at the conclusion of her term as Senior Warden. This was a trip she had hoped for all of her life; she remarked that she needed to know what Heaven was like and was quite happy with the experience.
