This morning while searching for info on John McKee and Agnes Ramsey who married 1797 at Mecklenburg Co NC, I found Capt Michael McCleary's Company on the "Tax Lists, 1797, 1798, 1799, 1806, & 1807" which is published as part of "Mecklenburg Co NC Will Abstracts 1791-1868 A-J" by Herman W. Ferguson and Ralph B. Ferguson.I am looking for what area of Meckleburg County NC this company of Capt McCleary covered.Does anyone know?
Also, on the list is William McCleary.
I don't have this entire book but on the copy of the Index Page, McLeary listings happen to be on the same page as McKee and there many McLeary listed including 8 for given name Michael.
I also found the following on the Mecklenburg Genforum msg358 which is certainly the correct person:

A number of the folks listed in Capt McCleary's beat, I think it is called beat, which included newly weds John and Agnes McKee (I believe that is the case) went to what would become Wilson and Rutherford Co TN in the first decade of the nineteenth century.
