Surely somebody else has had links to Jeffersonville, Fayette County, Ohio. I believe Robert McClellan's (b-abt 1832) parents migrated here from Pa. but I do not know their names. He married Mary A. Barlow (b-abt 1832) sometime in the mid 1800's. They had 9 children according to census records that somebody found for me. I have been able to trace 3 of the children successfully ( Anna Deborah, William J. & Charles G. ) The other 6 ( George, Stanley, Emma, Robert, Harry & Frederick) seem to eluded being documented anywhere. Robert McClellan & Mary A. Barlow moved to Wheeling, W. Va. for a period of time where Anna Deborah & William J. were born in 1856 & 1857. Then Charles G. was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1865.
Anna Deborah McClellan Married George Washington Irwin sometime in the 1870's. The had 4 children, that I have traced.
Robert McClellan was in the Civil War with the West Virginia 1st Cavalry Company K. abt 1863. He died in Feb 1898 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, & is buried in Woodland Cemetery in a single grave in Dayton, Ohio. I can not find any record of when his wife (Mary A. Barlow) died or where she is buried.
I also find it strange that I could never find if Robert McClellan had any brothers or sisters, since large families were rather common in the 1800's.
I would appreciate anybody with some good resources if they could turn up a new link or lead to my McClellan ancestors.
