CYNTHIA JANE RIDGEWAY, daughter of JOB and HETTIE RIDGEWAY, was born in Green County, Pennsylvania, May 26, l858, and died at her home in Humeston, Iowa, July 9, l924, at the age of 66 years. When she was seven years old, her parents moved to Iowa, living in Osceola for a time, and finally settling in Decatur County.
She was united in marriage to JOSEPH TRULLINGER, April l6, l878, and to this union three children were born, FREEMAN LOUIS, NORAH ALICE and ROY MILTON. MR. and MRS. TRULLINGER lived on the farm near Garden Grove over forty years, moving to Humeston in l9l8. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at High Point over 25 years ago, and has lived a faithful and consistent Christian life. She loved her church and in the early days endured many hardships in order to attend its services regularly. Her children were trained from infancy in the ways of religious faith and devotion.
She bore the suffering of her final illness with great patience, manifesting always that spirit of cheerfulness and kindliness to all which was a marked characteristic of her life. She leaves to mourn her loss the bereaved husband, two sons, FREEMAN LOUIS, of Humeston, ROY MILTON, of Des Moines, one daughter, MRS. NORA ALICE SCOTT, of Leon, the aged father, JOB RIDGEWAY, of Chillicothe, Mo; three brothers, JESSE RIDGEWAY, of Leon; CHAS. RIDGEWAY, of Leroy; and W. RIDGEWAY, of Tonganoxia, Kansas; three sisters, MRS. CLEONA JONES, of Chillicothe, Mo.; MRS. ALICE MYERS, of Kansas City, and MRS. ADDIE MCCLURG, of Stockton, California; eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held in the Humeston Methodist Church, conducted by her Pastor and interment made at the Garden Grove Cemetery.
