Greetings, I am adding an update on my post of a few years ago. And am still looking for kin to this McClurg family.
My McClurgs are from Killyleagh, Down, Ireland. Their families were originally from Scotland. They probably come into Killyleagh, Down, Ireland, as part of the Killyleagh plantation by Sir James Hamilton of Scotland in the early 1600's. My family were Scots Presbyterians. As stated in my earlier post, my ggg grandparents came to Ontario County, NYS, USA in 1843 with their daughter Jemima and perhaps an Emma. Their two sons William and James came to Ontario County in 1840 and 1841 respectively. Since then I found out that all were born in Killyleagh, Down, Ireland.
