Poston,Went to Ardmore, OK from FL last week. The Ardmore cemetery is a very large cemetery. I did not have time to canvas the entire cemetery and the cemetery ofice was closed on Saturday. In the directory of Ardmore and surrounding areas, there were two McClurg families listed but both families had moved to Dennison, Texas. At the McClurg reunion at Claremore, I did not have ample time to check out Sand Springs, OK for those family members who moved there. I have recently come across a document initiated in Abreedene, South Dakota from a Federal agent who sent a wire to Maude (McClurg) Castleberry regarding the date of birth for Orla McClurg, (This is a son of David and Miss Olden of David's second marriage. Maude was still living at Ardmore in 1917 and answered the agent's question as Orla W. McClurg being born 7 Jan 1899. I believe the family group chart says 1898. Maude is his sister.
I will be in contact with the cemetery at Ardmore, OK to see if Ola W. McClurg has a record of burial there.
As for the Sand Springs Oklahoma records of the family, the descendants has not chosen to share with me. Maybe I will get by there on my next trip to Oklahoma and visit the cemetery.
