Diane I am just starting to research my family name (McClymonds). I ran across the McClymonds forum in genealogy.com and noticed you seem to have a lot of information. As I said I am just starting out doing this so I do not have much experience or much information to share but I would like to get involved. Here is what I know: I am:Roy Allen McClyumonds born-3/28/1944 Newport RI My Father:Herbert Harry McClymonds-Born 05/02/1905 Mercer co. PA at mercer#5 (I assume this was one of the coal mines there)Died 05/10/1977 Newport RI. My father had a brother: Clifford J. McClymonds born 11/24/1902 at Brent PA- Butler co. Married Ann E. Sweesey(spelling ?) their children were Geoge McClymonds,William McClymonds, Ruth McClymonds and Patricia McClymonds. and a sister: Elma V. McClymonds born 4/4/1901 in Grove city PA she married Eugene Bovard, They had 3 Children: Eugene Bovard David Bovard, and Gerald Bovard Mother:Catherine Sara Smith McClymonds-Born 10/27/1911 Newport RI Died 12/17/1998 Gr.Father:Herbert V. McClymonds Born 12/8/1883(?)Wampom PA (near New Castle PA.)Died ??? Gr. Mother: Minnie R. Reeher(spelling ?) Born: 3/17/1882 Died ??? Gr.Gr. Gran father: Willis McClymonds All info unknown Gr.gr. I have been told that there was an imigration to Ireland in 1773 and 4 Brothers came to America: Archibald, Andrew, John, and James. located in an Irish settlement in Lancaster co. PA. Later a John Glen born 1741(?) and his brother Archibald moved to Keyt.John married & raised a family. At the death of his first wife (I have no Info about this family) He left the land to his children and wandered into PA settled near Carlishe(spelling ?) He married Mary Divin and had 6 children(I have no Info on these children). About 1790 John Glen came to Spruce Creek bought 700 acres in the glades at the head of Spruce Creek. He is buried on his own land. A marker is placed on Rt. #45 State highway dirictly oppisate the grave yard where he is buried. John Glen Will #1546 probated 10/25/1819. Test amentary granted 10/31/1826. By register of will cinter co. Original will dated 1815. John McClymonds served with the Chester Co. Militia during the revolutianary War. See PA. Archive 5th series Vol. 7 page 830--838. Moved to butler Co. 1798 Died 6/16/1817. He & his wife( no info) era buried in Slippery Rock PA. W.P. Cemtary at Moors Corners. I can not conferm the above info as it was told to me and I have not checked any of it out.(To be frank about it I do not know how or where to start !!!)
