The Marriage Records of Hamlton County and the Death Notices in the Newspaper gives us some dates relating to the McColgen children.More specifically:
Mary J. 'Polley' McColgen, born 1814, married Hugh White on 1 Apr 1829 and died on 13 Mar 1894. Whether she was born 1814 or Mar 1815, she was very young to be marrying at that time and made Sarah a Grandmother by age 32 or 33. Their daughter, Temperance 'Tempy' White was born in 1831 and marrieda Caleb Gersbacher.Caleb wrote to Jesse Moore in the 1880's or '90's from Arkansas asking for $ so Tempy could go back home to visit her Mother, Polley. Tempy had a sister, Dorcus Jane White who married Samuel A. Thomas on 7 Oct 1850.
I also have one record of Nancy Vaughn, daughter of Sarah and William Vaughn.Nancy was born 13 Jun 1831, married Alfred Drew, a pioneer preacher, on 26 Nov 1848 and died 26 Aug 1911.They had a daughter Mary El Drew born 4 Feb 1864.
I will keep searching for where my records of Hays/Hayes originated.
Bethane McColgen married Iram York on 15 Jun 1837 and Emily Jane McColgen married John Sneed in 1840.
