James McCray and Mary of Burlington, Vermont
I would like to know more about the James McCray and Mary of Burlington, Vermont, in the 1870 census.Children in 1870 were Frank McCray 20, Kate McCray, John McCray, James McCray, Mary McCray, Ellen McCray, George McCray, Bartlett McCray, and Charles McCray 6 months.
Are James and Mary of VT the same James McCray of Smithville, New York, who in December 1849 married Mary Harrison (born Ireland)? In the 1850 census in Smithville they had living with them his brother Robert McCray.
James and Robert MAY have been the children of William McCray, of Smithville.William and Margaret McCray founded a Presbyterian church in 1827 in Smithville, Chenango County, New York.
They appear to have had the followign children plus maybe some more:
*James George who married Mary Harrison.Did they live in Burlington, Vermont?
*Robert who in 1850 lived with James and Mary
*Margaret
*possibly Mary, but maybe not
*other children
I am interested in learning the names of all the children of William and Margaret McCray. Also what are the birth and dates of these children?Where did the children live their adult lives?
Thank you for your help.
