I ASSUME you mean the Lewis Benjamin McCrea who was born Aug 7, 1892 (dates of birth and death always helps).
His WWII draft card shows he was born in Gumtree, Westchester County, PA which you would assume is Chester county. The WWI draft card for a Lewis McCrea born on the exact same date would have him living and born in Wilmington, DE.
Lewis' 1949 Ohio death certificate has him also born on the same date, also in Gumtree, PA (wherever that is). It shows his parents as John E. McCrea and Sarah Crookum: https://beta.familysearch.org/s/collection/show#uri=http://pilot.familysearch.org/records/trk:/fsrs/c1307272&hash=MPAfKvgWGXfZ5STyuqUCQxOVNk8%253D
Esther died July 15, 1966 also in Akron. Her death certificate should help in finding her parents' names.
I could not find Lewis in any census except the 1930 census with Esther. I couldn't find a John and Sarah that would fit. Lewis' obituary might help espcially if it lists any siblings.
The 1880 census of Cecil County, MD shows a Sarah Crookem 29 as the daughter of William 55 and Hannah 54. Other census records show them as Crookham. However, without more data on Lewis' mother any connection is just speculation.
