A list of tax delinquents for 1748 was published in Chalkley. One of them was Robert Burnside, possibly my 4ggrandfather. He was said to have been killed by Indians in what became the present Augusta Co. in 1741. Information about Robert is sketchy. The 1748 tax delinquency list is the about only mention of him in Chalkley. I entered message boards of other names on the list in hopes that one of them, McCreery for instance, might have something their ancestor that would help my search. It appears that we are both in the same boat. All I know about the McCreery on the tax list is that he was on the tax list.
