If I can help with anything please feel free to email me at JPritchett2@hotmail.com I also ran across this Life Information: "John McCreless was a farmer. He joined the confederate army in 1863, and this left [his wife] alone on the farm with five daughters and two negro slaves. It was the slaves who hid horses and other livestock in the cane breaks when the news came that the Yankees were approaching along the McCreless home. Only two Yankees ever came to the home, however, and these found nothing that they wanted or needed." -- from a newspaper article about the death of Margaret Palestine McCreless McCall. Hope I helped in your research. Joyce Pritchett
