Pg. 634 …(1) JOHN McCOLLOGH’S parents moved from Scotland to the south of Ireland, where the father died when JOHN was but six years of age.He was the only child in the family.The family belonged to the United Presbyterian church.JOHN McCOLLOGH came to Cumberland County, Pa., and settled in Mifflin Township, but subsequently moved to a farm east of Newville.This farm is still owned by his descendants.He was born in 1740, and died in 1808.He married and was the father of eight children.He married and was the father of eight children.

WELTY McCOLLOGH, son of JOHN (2) and ELIZA C. (WELTY) McCOLLOGH, was born in 1847, and died in 1889.He was a graduate of Princeton College, and in 1886 was elected to a seat in Congress.He married ADA B. MARKLE and they had two children.
ELIZA JANE McCOLLOGH, daughter of JOHN (2) and ELIZA C. (WELTY) McCOLLOGH, was born in 1849; married WILLIAM THEODORE DOM.
ANNA WELTY McCOLLOGH, daughter of JOHN (2) and ELIZA C. (WELTY) McCOLLOGH, was born in 1862; she graduated from the Pennsylvania College for Women; married DENNA CHARLES OGDEN, a prominent attorney in Greensburg, born in 1860, died in 1915. (pg. 635)
