Thank-you for replying to my notice.We have very little information about Edward other than he was baptised a Catholic in 1838 and his sponsors were George and Mary Deehan.Your Edward has a date of birth in 1843. Have you any documation to support this date?The Church which contained any records was burned and very little information remains.It only became law to register births in Ireland after 1864 so we have to depend on Church records and census forms for information before that date.This information was often badly recorded e.g. wrong spelling etc. Other than the date of birth the other information seems to fit in. Edward seemed to be a popular name at that time as I have come accross several in the passenger lists of the emmigrant ships of that time but none of them fit in. My Edward was born in a small Parish outside the town of Limavady in Co Derry.It is thought that his father may have come from elsewhere to live there but again there are no leads.
