Margy Hannan Francis’ record tells the following story although she didn’t showfrom what source the information came:William McDorman, known as "Wild Bill" was a rancher and cattleman in Dead-wood, South Dakota. While returning from a herd run to Omaha, Nebraska, hewas murdered.Story has it he crawled 7 miles with a bullet in his back and died somewhere in South Dakota. His murderer was never found. He, also supposedly married a second time after Margaret died to a "Cecelia" and hadchildren whose names were Albert, William, Charles, Owen, Rose and three others.Albert was a cowboy in Cody, Wyoming.Owen died or got shot inSeattle.Charles shot a U.S. Marshall, a railroad surveyor and a county sheriff and then himself when they got in an argument over his land and tried to take itfrom him.
William McDorman was a wild type man. When he came to visit his daughter in Menomonie, Wisconsin, he told his future son-in-law, Solon S.
