I don't know if he had a brother named Patrick.I really don't know much about him. I do know they lived on the Main St. in Lattimer Mines on the 1900 Census. They did move somewhere around 1907 to Philadelphia. My grandmother, Mary McElwee applied for a marriage license in 1907. She married Joseph Ignatious Malloy in Philadelphia. Cornelius died Nov. 8, 1939 in Philadelphia. His wife,Mary, died April 26, 1919 in Philadelphia.
I have the Baptismal certificates from St. Gabriels Parish in Hazleton and they list the Godparents names and there is a Patrick and Mary McElwee listed for Cornelius's son John.
The other Godparents names were: Patrick & Winefred Sharkey for Daniel McElwee, Michael & Catherine McGlynn for Loretta McElwee,
Patrick McElwee & Hanna Durning for James McElwee, Patrick Duffy & Anna Boyle for Cornelius McElwee Jr.,& Francis Gallagher& Bridget O'Donnell for Mary McElwee. That's all I know.
