I have found the parents to my Michael McEnerny. They are:John b. unknown, and Mary McMahon b. 1815 both in Ireland. Children that I know of for sure are Micheal b. 1847 in Ireland, and Catherine b. October 2, 1856 near Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. There is possibly another child, John b. 1852 in Ireland but I haven't been able to confirm this. There is a record of marriage of John McEnerny to a Mary McMahon in County Limerick but there is no date listed so I don't know if these are mine or not.
I don't know when they immigrated to Ontario, but according to Michael in the 1900 census, they came down to the states in 1864. However, according the Catherine in the 1900 census, they came down in 1860. Still can't find hide nor hair of them until 1868 when Michael filed his intent to naturalize in Marion County, OHIO.
John McEnerny seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. According to his wife, Mary, in the 1870 census of Akron, OH, she is widowed. She remarried a fellow by the name of Thomas WAde in 1876.
I have also not been able to pin down Michael between the 1870 census and 1883. I do know that his soon to be wife, Mary Coster, was living in Kings County in 1880 so he must have been there at some time so that he could meet her.
Other names connected to the McEnerny line are: Coster, Conway, James, Carlan, Bouchey, Riedel, Walters.
