Andrew McEntee (1825-1901) County Cavan
My grandmother (ELLEN McENTEE 1874-1942)emigrated from the vicinity of Kingscourt, County Cavan in 1890 -- to reside initially with her mother's sister in Wheeling, WV.My grandmother's father, ANDREW McENTEE (1825-1901) had a farm at townland of Cornamaugh -- Kingscourt was the post office as you may know.Andrew died in Ireland.
Andrew McEntee's wife had the SAME surname Anne McEntee(maiden name 1828-1887) who died in the parish of Enniskeen, County Cavan. I believe she had brothers: Cormac (who married Mary Murphy in 1861 in Cavan); Thomas (who married Anne Murphy, also 1861 in Cavan), a brother, James, married twice, resided and died in County Cavan, older sister, Mary McEntee (1827-1897) who married in Steubenville, OH about 1851 to a Thomas Muldoon (1827-1888) and resided in WHEELING, WV. I believe both THIS Cormac McEntee and his brother, Thomas, emgrated to Wheeling, WV, also.
My Anne (1828-1887) married (1847) Andrew McEntee (same surname 1825-1901), a farmer in townland of Cornamaugh, parish of Enniskeen, Cavan, barony of Clankee, County Cavan. I have a fair amount of information on later generations of my McEntee. If interested let me know. DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE EARLIER McENTEE in that area of County Cavan? Thanks
