MacEntees and McEntee families of Ulster County, NY
Hello everyone.Thomas MacEntee here from Chicago.I grew up in the Hudson Valley and always wondered if the MacEntee and McEntee families in that area were related.
I have recently done some research and I've gotten some great input from Dave MacEntee on this board as well.I've posted two articles on my family history blog.
This one: http://destinationaustinfamily.blogspot.com/2008/02/two-roads-do-mcentee-and-macentee.htmlhttp://destinationaustinfamily.blogspot.com/2008/02/two-roads-do-mcentee-and-macentee.html
discussed whether or not both families can trace their roots back to a common ancestor from Ireland.I believe they do - and that ancestor is Charles McEntee born abt 1768 in County Monaghan Ireland.
Besides trying to prove that theory, I also hope to prove that these same MacEntee/McEntee families are also related to the Patrick McEntee family of Perry Center, Wyoming County, NY,

gives some very interesting background on the McEntee family of Kingston and Rondout, NY.
I have more research and writing to do so I hope you'll be patient.I hope to have much of this wrapped up by the end of March.
Also, I will be making a trip home this weekend to visit my Mom in Margaretville, Delaware County, and I hope to take pictures at either the Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston or the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
Stay tuned!
