Sharon, You all may already have this info, but thought I would post just in case.In the 1785 Virginia, Prince County Head of Families, there is a Daniel McFall listed. It gives 4 white males, 1 dwelling, and 1 other building. Also, in Rowan Co., NC, John McFalls married Martha Hill, 7 Aug 1783; James Curry, bondsman; Robt. Hall, witness.
Also, Arthur was active in the Revolutionary War in the NC area as a scout, never in service. His brother, John, was a Tory and was almost hung at Kings Mountain, but Arthur saved him that time.He was later hung with another large group of Tories.
In the last Indian attack in the region, a McFalls woman (unnamed) was scalped, but lived. The scalping left her disfigured and her husband,(John), deserted her and his children. He was also reported to do a lot of criminal things (stealing, threaten people, etc.)
John probably deserved to be hung, but Arthur seemed to be well thought of by the people.
I am trying to find out who Adam McFalls' (Burke Co.) father was.
My info comes from the Morganton newspaper, and the book, "King's Mountain, and its Heroes", by Lyman Draper, c. 1929.
