This is a success story about using Genealogy.com message boards. On 30 April 2001, I posted a message entitled "Who is 'THE' Expert on McFalls Family?"This resulted, over the course of the past two years in my breaking down a brick wall that had plagued me since the mid-1970s.As a result of the posting, I located descendants of my great grandfather Andrew Johnson "A.J." McFalls' siblings, namely: Joan (Cross) Everts of Washington, Larry McFalls of Missouri, Wayne McFalls of Pennsylvania, and Floyd Bennett of Illinois.Joan Everts provided me with the long elusive names of my great grandfather's parents, as well as his siblings.Since that time, Joan, Floyd and I have done many hours of research on this family and shared our information with each other via email.Joan (the 'yeoman' in this story) has now compiled this information in the form of a book entitled "The McFalls Clan and Allied Families" (2003).Including indices, etc., it is 516 pages in length and has 20 chapters, including a chapter on each of Alney B. McFalls and Matilda McKinney's ten children and many of their descendants. There are many photos that Joan has collected over the years and others which she has been hard at work finding over the past year and a half. She began the project in the 1960s with her cousin, Dorothy (Riggs) Earls.Joan's publication is a dream come true for those of us seeking to know more about this family, and it is a 'feather in the cap' of Genealogy.com for bringing us all together and playing a part in a compiled history of this family.Joan Everts can be contacted at 253 So. Bonair Rd. in Zillah, WA 98953.
