The information I have came from a history of the McFelea family which was written about 20 or 30 years ago.It was given to my father by his niece.I don't know for sure who wrote it but I think it was a Mary Ralston.
This history indicates that Patrick McFelea immigrated to Baltimore Maryland from Ireland with his brother.Patrick had 3 sons and a daughter. The sons were Tom, William, and Johnie. The daughters name was not known. It says that Thomas (Tom) married Zelpha Deweese, Johnie married Fanny Dobson, and William married Sarah Abbott. It also states that Johnie never had any children and he died of measles. It indicates the William and Sarah had six sons and two daughters.
I don't know if this information is accurate.I do know that the 1850 Barren County census shows that in William McFelea's home was living a woman named Nancy McFelea and she was 39 years old.I would expect this to be his wife and she is old enough to be the mother of all his children.
I am also confused but I don't have much information to work with. What information do you have that indicates that William's wife was Nancy and that old John was the father of William, Thomas, and Johnny?
I am open to any information that will help us get this straightened out.I have not been able to locate anything on Patrick McFelea and I would be happy to be able to prove that old John was the father of William, Thomas, and Johnny.
Do you have anything to verify that old John was their father?
Do you know anything about the 17 year old Sarah A. McFelea that was living in William Abbott's home during the 1850 census?
