Family legend states that Wheeler McGill had his own little moonshine business and left Illinois to head west to avoid prosecution and settled in Idaho.Later, his brother Luther McGill followed and we descend from his son, Inamn Edgar McGill.
We have also believed that John H. McGill settled in Idaho after receiving a piece of land for serving in the War of 1812.
If any of this can be confirmed or disputed, I would love to hear form you.The family genealogy shows the following for our line:
Inman Edgar McGill b:3 Dec 1918 in Illinois m:Hellen Port 4 May 1951 in Nevada d:15 Jun 1955 in Idaho
Luther McGill b:3 Jan 1897 in Illinois m:Ada Maude Betts on 23 May 1917 in Illinois d:8 Dec 1976 in Idaho
