There was a transcript at one point from the trial but the last I heard Ruth Culprit had it and she has since passed away. I do not know who may have gotten there hands on it when she past.
Robert Jefferson McGinty was a 2nd cousin once removed from my spouse, Jack McGinty.
His story is that he was indeed killed in LA in 1905 and that story is the he was murdered by James A. Mathews. The records of the trial, etc., are in the Sixth district court, Morehouse Parish, LA. According to witnesses, McGinty had bought some chickens from Mathews and went to his house to pick them up. There, he was shot by Mathews.
I have also heard that his son was a witness to the murder (possible William Harrison).
I have that William Harrison was born in 1891 in MO and died 1950 in Goliad, TX. I do not have much more on his lineage (but you must have...:-))
Our is from another son that we believe was born to Robert Newton McGinty (Robert Jefferson's grandfather, Eli Mcginty. (John M. McGinty, Robert Jefferson's father) was a brother to Eli and our tree also is related to the Guinn's that we Robert Jefferson's mother's side of the family.
