I just wanted to erge all male McGlothlens to have their DNA tested. I had mine tested 2 years ago, and discovered that my DNA is from County Donegal, Ireland. I match on mostly persons with the name McLaughlin, but also Dougherty, Doherty. This isn't a surprise since the Family Historian, Don McGlothlen has found our ancestor John McLaughlin Sr. The Dougherty matches did surprise me until I found that the McLaughlins and the Doughertys lived in the area Inishower, Ireland together for over six hundred years. There are some great sites if you want more information, go to; http://members.aol.com/lochlan/clanmac.htmhttp://members.aol.com/lochlan/clanmac.htm, there you will find tremendous amounts of information compiled by John D. McLaughlin of St.Louis, MO. To have your DNA tested go to Family Tree dna and get a 37 marker test which will run about $189.00. The info you'll get will probably be very interesting.
