I am not sure if anyone knows that Sam Rothwell, Rosemary Beardmore and myself have been transcribing the English BMDs from 1837 onwards for McGrevy and of course McGravey, McGravy, McGreaivey, McGreavey, McGreavy, McGreevey, McGreevy, McGreive, McGreivey, McGreivy, McGreve, McGrevey, McGrevvy, McGrevy, McGrievey, McGrievy, McGrive.
It is a slow task, in our spare time, but the results may be of use to anyone searching for an English ancestor. You can see what we have done so far at
and of course it is ongoing.
It would be nice if you have any data or certificates relating to the entries since when complete this will be a very useful resource for our family name. I have already managed to use it to trace many of my own relatives and open up new lines.
It is free, catch free and I hope it is of interest, perhaps Frank can advise the group of the availability ?
