Alex McGregor (born 1828 in Torosay, Isle of Mull) and Ann (McKenzie) McGregor and their 2 sons John and Donald were recorded in the 1881 census in North Bruce, Ontario. The daughter Margaret married John McLeod the year before and therefore was not recorded there in the 1881 census. The family owned crown land they got in 1876 and which they sold in 1882. Perhaps Alex and Ann had the land for some time, as tenant farmers, while it was still crown property. Any idea where members of this family went after leaving North Bruce?
There is another Alexander MacGregor married to a Flora (Ann) McLeod who lived in Kincardine and is buried in the cemetery there. He might have been a relative of the first Alex.
Thanks for any clarification and further information.
