I have started a McHale Y-DNA project through Family Tree DNA. If you have had your DNA tested through another company you can still participate.
My hope is this will help to focus research by "sorting out" individual families into groups with a common male ancestor.
The main webpage for the project is at http://www.olivergilroyfamily.com/McHaleDNA/McHaleDNA.htmlhttp://www.olivergilroyfamily.com/McHaleDNA/McHaleDNA.html.There is information on the project, my McHales, Y-DNA testing and a link to FTDNA and an order form for a DNA kit. There is also a link to email me from the website if you have any questions. I have been speaking with some suspected relations in Mayo about testing and they are agreeable.
My greatgrandfather was William J. McHale of Cum Lahardaun, Addergoole Civil Parish, County Mayo. There is a link to my genealogy information as well as some general Mayo genealogy information I have posted. My greatgrandmother was Honor (Nora) McHale (maiden name McHale) from the same area but no townland known at this point. Her father's name is believed to be Thomas.
