The family all seemed to come from Mayo to Brooklyn in the early 1860's, likely to better themselves and also to raise Edward McHale's 2 surviving children, James and Sarah.Everyone lived in South Brooklyn (Red Hook) from 1860's onward, later spread out in Brooklyn and beyond.
