pamela,
hi, i'm in the process of researching but so far I know this: my mother's maiden name was helen nies, and she had 3 sisters (my aunts), Marian, Emily, Kathrine. But I heard my aunt katherine had a differant father than my mom and her 2 other sisters ( emily & marian)...i also heard my gramma nies gave birth to a boy and they named him Peter, but i was told he was a "still born" baby. But it was my gram (Mary McHale,or MacHale) that was born in Ireland, I still have to find out the year she was born, but i remember she died in 1965,Sept 18th.
My gramma nies had sister that came over to american also, Agnes,& Ellie, and theres more but i still have to find this out.
And i've heard a few stories about our family's history, but the one that stood out the most was that we had a bishop in the family, and his name was Arch Bishop John McHale (or MacHale).
and may i say thank you for responding to my postings. : )
