They were married July 27, 1879 and his birth date was estimated to be 1856 and hers 1860. Census tells us that with that age she is the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth E. Losey. It appears that Catherine must have died in Wilson County, Kansas before 1895 but she had at least three children: Della, Nella E.(Nellie) and William Burton Mcilwain. "1880 census Kansas Wilson County. Charles Mcilwain mw 23 IN. Chatherine Mcilwain fw 20 IA. Della Mcilwain fw 1 mo KS."
Charles married a second time probably to Maude Miller.(However I am not certain about Maude's last name because it appears that Guy Earl Mcilwain is not their son because of the birth date given in the death information as compared with the 1900 census. But one could be incorrect.)

I would like to discuss this family with anyone who is related or has and interest in them. I would like to know where Catherine Losey Mcilwain is buried. I do know where Charles and his second wife are buried. The family of William Burton Mcilwain and Nellie are of special interest because they do link back to the Losey family lines. However, I am interested in all of Charles' children.
