“There is among the Seaforth Paper s (early records) in the Register House a list of Tenants in Uig in 1808. The following names were found there.
Crowlista – Neil MacIver – his sons Donald –hi son John MacIver, who was known as “Red –haired John.The mother of John MacIver was a MacLean on both her father’s and her mother’s sides.John MacIver was Grandpa’s father.A brother of John (Murdo) also lived in Crowlista.An only sister of John married a MacIver.She and Murdo lived in Scotland always.Two brothers of John came to Canada with their families, butthere were no records kept of those who emigrated or where they went.They were Malcolm and Norman.John’s wife, Flora MacDonald, was daughter of Murdo, son of Norman.

Miolsta – Donald MacLeod, Peter MacLeod’s father in law. “
