This is my direct line. The John Wilson who married Mary "Polly McKamy" in Blount County, Tn was b 1796 there to Joseph Wilson, b 1766 in VA, died 1835 near Maryville. He was a JP and strict Seceder Prebyterian, as were the McKamys of the Big Spring and Pistol Creek Sessions near Maryville. John Wilson served in Capt David McKamy's company in the 1812 war and his widow left forPalestine, IL, to take up land with her widow's grants of 2 80-acre land warrants. She died in rural Richland Co., IL, near the Jasper and Clay county lines. Hr father was James McKamy, a Revolutionary war pensioner, who died in Blount Co., TN before she and her family left, first for Crawford Co and then Jaspr and Richland Cos., IL, in spring 1853 in an ox-drawn wagfon train.
