Maryville Times (Blount Co. TN) Saturday, December 18, 1897:
"The Last Roll Call---William McKamy, who had been sick some four weeks or more, died Sunday morning, 5th inst., at 11 o’clock. Deceased was born in Blount County, Tennessee, March 28, 1838, and came to this county in 1859. He enlisted in Co. E., 98th Illinois Vols., in 1862, and served until discharged on account of disability, having been severely wounded in the arm by a gunshot in 1864. He joined the United Presbyterian Church at Morea in 1866, and three years ago united with the Presbyterian church at Beckwith, where he was clerk. He was married in September, 1877, to Anna Maxwell, who survives him. He also leaves some four or five children. He moved to this city from Duncanville only some five or six weeks ago, and was taken sick a few days afterward." ---Robinson, (Illinois) Argus.
