I have a copy of a handwritten affidavit by Hugh McKean from which you might be interested in getting a copy. Hugh was providing proof of the military service of his uncle, Josiah McKane. Hugh stated that his father was Gibson McKean, and stated that Josiah McKane (note the difference in spelling of the surname) was his uncle and stated that Josiah was the youngest of his father Gibson's siblings.
Private Josiah McKane served in the 179th Pennsylvania Infantry (Drafted Militia), Company "B", and over 120 pages of information were available through the National Archives concerning Josiah McKane's pension -- including Hugh McKean's affidavit. Josiah McKane's records indicated that he was in the Union military hospital outside of Yorktown, Virginia during his time of service in the Civil War.
