I am looking for information on my great-great-grandfather
Edward McKee and his wife Mary (maiden name unknown). If
anyone has any information on them, their ancestors,
siblings, or their descendents, please e-mail me
Background (as far as we've been able to determine):
Edward McKee was born in Ireland (possibly Roscommon),
probably in the 1810's or 1820's.Mary was also born in the
same time frame, in the same area, but the date is unknown.
Edward and Mary wed in May, but I'm not sure of the year.
Probably 1844-1848. They may also have wed in Roscommon,
Their son John Joseph McKee was born (also Roscommon),
sometime in 1844-1848 (died March 1, 1901). There may have
been other children, as well, but I have no information on
The family emigrated to England sometime between 1850 and
John Joseph McKee met and married Mary A. Giblin (born in
Lancashire, England in 1851). They married sometime in 1866,
possibly in Staffordshire or Lancashire, and most likely in
a Catholic church.
The family (possibly only John Joseph and Mary) emigrated to
the United States in 1872, where they settled in, or around,
Orange, New Jersey. The first confirmed address I have for
them is Glebe Street in Orange (c. 1880).
John Joseph and Mary had the following children:

2/14/1871 or 1872, died West Orange, NJ 1/22/1943)

James (born 6/4/1884, died ?)
John J. (born 8/30/1887, died ?)
There was at least one other child, born in 1887, who
probably died in infancy. There may be other children as
Edward Joseph McKee married Annie Theresa Burns (born 1872
in Ireland, died 1/29/1905 in Orange, NJ) on April 20, 1898
in Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, Orange Valley, NJ.
They had a daughter, Mary, who died in infancy
There may have been other children, as well, but we can find
no record of them.
Mary Ann McKee married my great-grandfather James Francis
McCartney (1872-1950) in Orange, New Jersey, around 1894.
The wedding most likely took place in St. John's R.C.
Church, Orange, NJ (or Lady of the Valley R.C. Church).
Their children include:

1896, died ?))
