Hi Stephanie,I have a Ann Mackey born in Ireland about 1830 and died about 1905 in Verona NJ -- her death cert. gave her parents as Patrick and Bridget Mackey.Ann married William Walsh (Welsh)in 1852 at Madison NJ.They lived in Bloomfied (now Montclair) and Caldwell (now Verona). For the most part they were members of Immaculate Conception church in Montclair, but at least one of their daughters was married at St. John's in Orange and I had noticed that one of your McKee's was married there too.Have you seen any Walsh or Welsh sponsors or witnesses on any of your McKee baptism or marriage records?
I have many Montclair Irish families and so try to keep track of many Irish families from that town hoping it will help to trace my families back to Ireland.Anyway, I had these McKee's in my files --
Mary McKee, daughter of Edward and Mary, born abt. 1821 in Corthune Co. Roscommon, died 25 Dec. 1897.(I believe all this information came from a tombstone either at Immaculate in Montclair or Mt. Olivet in Bloomfield)
Patrick McKee died Sept 20 1905, wife Mary Bolan, Children James P,Mary Ann Born May 9, 1859, Edward Born 22 July 1863, and Eliz.(I believe this information came from both a tombstone and a Census or perhaps a church record.
I also believe I seen another Edward McKee's tombstone and if my memory is correct he would have born about 1815 - about the same date as yours!"IF" I am right could this be yours?
