I am also a descendant of Guion McKee and Abigail. I attended a McKee family reunion in Fleming county this Sept. Virtually all attendies were descendants of John Owings McKee, son of Guion, but they didn't seem to know anything about Guion, nor of his Revolutionary service to his country. One thing I learned was the importance they placed on the middle name Owings. Two men told me they were strongly impressed with the importance of keeping Owings as a middle name. One of the men's fathers middle name was Owings and so was that the middle name of the man telling me. Since Guion & Abigail named an early son John Owings McKee and Abigail's father was John Lane/Lain, could John Lane's wife or mother have been an Owings? Have you heard of the importance of continuing the Owings name in the family?
Do you have a photo of Guion's son John Owings McKee? He lived into photography.I have a copy of a photo of William McKee (b1783) your John o.'s brother.
There were two Fleming Co. McKee reunions this year. Do you know why they don't combine it into one? Conflict in the past?
