Paul:Re the brothers who came from Ireland, according to my research, there were 4 brothers who came from Scotland to Ireland, all the sons of James Mackey of Strathnaver. These 4 bros. fought in the Battle of the Boyne w/ Wm. of Orange in 1690. They were: 1) Hugh McKey - settled in Lisban, Co. Down. 2) David McKey - went to England w/Wm.of Orange. 3) John McKey - settled in Ards, Co. Down. 4) Alexander McKee - b.1665 Strathnaver, d. 1740 McKee's Half Falls, PA, settled in Antrim and then moved to America with his sons in early 1700's.
The sons I have found identified with Alexander McKee are: 1) Robert McKee, b.1692 Ireland, d.1774 Rockbridge Co. VA. 2) Thomas McKee, b.1693 Ireland, d.1769 Lanchaster Co., PA. 3) William McKee, b. 1695 Ireland, d. abt.1788 in VA or KY. 4) John McKee, b.1708 Ireland, d.1792 in VA. 5) Hugh McKee 6) Gavin McKee
This is not my original research, but I found it in books, on the internet and from other's family trees.
If anyone can prove, disprove or add to this information, I would like very much to hear from them.
