Perhaps this bit of information may help you with your search for information related to the McKee family who owned the McKee Glass Company in Pennsylvania.
My grandfather worked for the McKee Glass Company in Pittsburgh. My father was born in 1881 and he said that when he was seven years old the plant moved to Jeannette, Pa., because of the availability of a better supply of gas to fuel their glass furnaces. That would put the date of the move around 1888. My grandfather mixed the "batch," as it was called - the sand and other chemicals used in making glass.
I can recall my Dad talking about a member of that family named Sellars McKee. (I'm not sure about the spelling of the first name).
