John Gracey and Martha McKee of Comber, County Down were the parents of William, Robert, Hanson, Matthew, John, Andrew, Susan, Martha, and Margaret. Thomas, who married Rachel Gourley also of County Down immigrated to Canada with his wife and children after the mill he owned in Comber burned down. Their ship docked in Quebec. John Gracey and Martha McKee were my great, great, great grandparents. Thomas and Rachel, who settled in Monck (Moulton) Ontario were my great, great grand-parents. Thomas and his family were the first to immigrate. I have a copy of his (Thomas Gracey) obituary (died 5 Dec 1921) which indicates that most of his siblings later came to Ontario too. Margaret married someone by the last name of Donan and ended up in Michigan, where she was still living in 1921. The others stayed in Ontario (Wainfleet, Dunnville, Wellandsport, Monck). The siblings that stayed in Comber were John and Andrew Gracey. I am currently looking for information on the parents of John Gracey (father of Thomas). I know the father of John was also named Thomas, but don't know his mother's name. I am also looking for any information on Martha McKee (married John Gracey (24 JUL 1819 in County Down) and also on the family of Rachel Gourley who married Thomas Gracey (married 26 Sept 1857, in County Down). In all probability the Gracey gravestones (1883, erected by Andrew) are those of John and Martha, parents of immigrant Thomas Gracey. Any other information anyone has concerning the McKees, Graceys, and Gourleys of Comber, County Down who are related to the Thomas Gracey family of Ontario would be helpful. Thanks.
