I have info about the son Jonathan. His death record states: "Pierson, Jonathan. Death: 10 October 1855. Dropsy and affection of the heart. 60 years, 6 months, 18 days. Joseph and Sharloty Pierson (Parents). Born monroe county VA. Farmer. Wife, Elizabeth Pierson." I have an image of the death register of Jonathan.
Before 1809, it has been said by others that Joseph and Charlotte were in Monroe, VA. The same source noted : "Campbell's history of Nicholas Co. says that Joseph Pierson was the first school teacher in the county--even though he could hardly read or write or "cypher". He had a crippled arm and school teaching was about all he could do." More info at West Virginia Archives and History West Virginia Division of Culture and History Copyright 2008.
