Jan, Thanks for posting the obit. Are you related?I suspect not since you have so graciously posted many obits.A good number of the names you've posted also show up in my husband's recent autosomal DNA results from Family Tree DNA and I note all your posts are from the north eastern portion of Tennessee.
Other recent Family Finder results from FTDNA have proven to me that my husband is related to the McKee of Jefferson County and/or Washington County in TN.I'm sure there are many McKee families there now but I suspect this kinship will go back to 1800 give or take 25 years.I haven't begun to investigate this new trail yet.
Many of the surnames in your posting history are also in the autosomal DNA hits from Family Tree DNA Family Finder results such as Herron Hicks Hogan Huff Jones Jackson Dean King Lane McDaniel and a number of the others. My husband's father was named Olin / Olion and you have a Lane post that is the only other time I have seen that name used (if memory serves).(I once found a little town in.... I think.....Iredell County......NCcalled Olin.)
So, if you are not related to Edward E. McKee perhaps folks reading this who are related will see this message and also leave a message here. I would be very interested in comparing his McKee lineage with FTDNA McKee Group Kit 127187
Thanks again for all your obituary contribuitons. They are very helpful.
