Samuel Cleavenger (1755-1803) lived in Winchester, VA and was a teamster. He was killed in 1803 by a runaway horse and cart. After his death, his wife, Margaret, took her family to Harrison County, VA to settle on land located on the Simpson Creek which Samuel had bought earlier.I believe that Samuel Cleavenger was the son of Samuel Clevenger (1710-?). On the web, many people have Samuel's death as 1803. Obviously that is not true.
Margaret's maiden name is said to be Ramsey. In Frederick County, there is a John and Margaret Ramsey, who I belive are Margaret's parents. In 1803 a land transaction mentions Joseph Cleavenger and Jacob Pointer having land adjoining the Ramsey's land. One source states that Margaret Ramsey married Lewis Demoss. Until I find a will for John Ramsey or John Vanort, I won't know for sure.
