I saw 2 individuals seeking info on Boss Hugh Mclauglin. You struck pay dirt. I am the great,, great, great grand daughter of hugh and there are a ton of us out here. There are 2 generations below me. Have pictures of him and portrait of his mother and pictures of all suceeding Grandmothers. There are relatives that I know of on Long Island, Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma. There is a lot of info on him. His parents are buried at the once known ProCathedral of St. James in Brooklyn. I would have to read my notes (and there are a bunch )but I believe there is one young child that died buried along with them. The family plot for buriel remains in Brooklyn and my family has been interred therefor generations at that plot including aunts and uncle in the past ten years. The main stone at the plots center gives the family history of origin in Ireland and Hugh is buried there. Google Hugh Maclauglin Brooklyn and you will find tons of stuff on him. I also have a copy of a thesis that was done on him. Google his wife too. She is also quite natable. I want to say her name was Sarah. I believe he may have also been called Boss Tweed and he took on the political opponents of the time known as Tammany hall. He was the so called Democratic Boss of Brooklyn and a personal friend of Grover cleveland who attended my Great, Great Grandma's wedding. You have an incredibly rich family history if you are a decendant of Hugh. They were extremely wealthy but his parents came from Ireland very poor. Hugh was a self made man and held great poser in Brooklyn. He was also a great philanthropist as was his wife. Hugh rebuilt the alter at the procathedral and died as it was finished and his was the first funeral to be held at the new alter.bDoes anyone on this forum know where any of the other relatives are?
