I am looking for Thomas McLees married to Nancy Calvert probably before 1830. They may have had at least two sons as shown in the 1830 Census for Mercer, County PA. Would any of this be found in your information? I am particularly interested in the names of those children. I show by church records and by will that Thomas' father was John McLees and his mother Jane _____ McLees.
I have them in Mercer County in the 1830 census [US Census 1830 W. Salem twp, Mercer, PA, M 20-30=1, F20-30=1, Males Under5=2, 15-20=1. (Note: In 1834, according to the Sessions records for the Shenango Reformed Presbyterian Church, Thomas had a hired hand in his household. I think that was the case shown in the 1830 census as well. clp)], then Crawford county until about 1836 since he was on the tax rolls in South Shenango twp 1834-1836. He is mentioned in his father's will in in 1838 in Crawford county PA. After that the only place I find the name of Thomas McLees is in the 1848 will of Nathaniel Calvert. He is not found in the 1840 census, nor thereafter, so I presumed they may have migrated out of the area, but I have not found to where. In 1857, Nancy McLees cosigned a deed that settled her father's estate, with no mention of Thomas McLees as husband. But the signature of Martha J Kale, her youngest sister is also there, not yet a widow, without mention of her husband, Aaron Kale either; thus I am left to wonder if Thomas McLees was alive or not in 1857, and whether or not they removed from the area prior to 1840.
