Your family sounds likely for Thomas McLin being a grandson or even great-grandson of Robert McLin. If Robert died in 1832, then his three children must have been born before that date. Even if Thomas were born in 1832, he would have been 63 when he married Margaret McAdoo. Possible, but unlikely. If he were an adult in 1832, which seems likely, as no guardianship was set up, then he would have been 81 or older in 1895. That seems quite unlikely, although, again, possible.
In the absence of more data, of course, it's all guesswork.
