Mary Melvina McMackin is a daughter of John McMackin and Isabell Mabel Bricker. She was born 13 May 1842 and lived in and around Jonesboro, Tenn until about 1911.She married Benjamin Frank or Frank Benjamin Hansford on 30 August 1861 in Washington Co., Tenn. She also had 4 children.Olive Naoma Hansford,b: 14 June 1862 d: 15 June 1862; Jessie M Hansford, b:17 Feb 1867 (Never Married I think); Jimmy Clifton (Nick Name "Dickey") Hansford, b: 12 Dec 1869, d: 4 Jan 1904 in Butler and Anna L Hansford, b: 5 Nov 1872 (Never Married I Think). These are the facts that I have. Here are the questions.By Mary's own account (I have old letters) in 1901 she uses the language " Frank left home". In 1911 she uses the language "I bid my kind, hansom young husband a last farewell". On both occassions the date was 21 Sept 1862. Did he die, leave the family or go to war?Him leaving in 1862 would account for Olive Naoma's birth.Jessie, Jimmy and Anna were all born after 1862.In at least Jessie and Anna's case, they signed their letters as a Hansford.Did Frank come home at some time? I just recieved information that idicates that there may have been another husband or at least male in Mary's life. His name is Jordan Tyson? Also the information has indicated that Mary has another middle name, "Mousall".I am fairly sure that this is not a given name of any type.Could it be another surname of another male in Mary's life.I also know from her letters that she went by Hansford until at least 1911 when I lost track of her.Does anyone have any information that might help me figure out Mary's family situation.I will share information. Thanks for your attention.
